September 1st, 2009How come I am so interested in different Religions?
|
I am a Christian….more Pentecostal than anything else and I have always been infatuated with spiritual warfare, and other religions views on the supernatural. I like reading about things on exorscisms and other supernatural events that occur on earth. Anyone care to explain or can relate? |

You’re a curious person who craves knowledge. Sounds like a great attribute.

Simply, corporate religion is anti-messiah…….
“Pure And Undefiled Religion”
“Pure religion and undefiled before G-D The Father is this, to visit the fatherless (those children who know not their Father, HE WHO is The Only True G-D, Father{Creator} of ALL) and widows(those who have not “experienced The Messiah and The Power{Our Father} that raised Him from among the dead”) in their affliction and to keep oneself uncontaminated by the world…….” (James 1:27)
Simply, all other religion is impure and defiled…….
And notice that “pure and undefiled” religion is “oneself(individual)”, a Brother or Sister doing The Will of Our Father, led of The Holy, Set Apart, Spirit…….
Simply, corporate “religion” is pagan and of this wicked world…….
And “Brothers and Sisters” is not “religion”, for what are Brothers and Sisters if not Family? Would not The Family of The Only True G-D, Father(Creator) of ALL, “The Body of The Messiah”, be much closer than a natural, fleshly family?
What is declared to be “religion” today is truly the devil’s playground…….
Simply, Faith will not create a system of religion…….
Hope is there would be those who take heed unto The Call of The Only True G-D to “Come Out of her, MY people”!
For they will “Come Out” of this wicked world(babylon) and it’s systems of religion, and enter into “the Liberty that is glorious for The Children of The Only True G-D”.
And so it is that they will no longer be of those who are destroying the earth(land, air, water, vegetation, creatures)” and perverting that which is Spirit(Light, Truth, Life, Love, Peace, Hope, Faith, Mercy, Grace, Miracles, etc.)…….
Peace, in spite of the dis-ease(no-peace) that is of this world and it’s systems of religion, for “the WHOLE(not just a portion) world is under the control of the evil one” (1John5:19) indeed and Truth…….
Truth is never ending……. ASimpleAndSpiritualLife.Blogspot.Com

Hehe! Don’t worry! Alot of people are like that! It’s nice that you are open-minded and like to learn about other religions! More people should be open-minded!
I like that.

There’s nothing wrong with an education.
September 8th, 2009 a las 4:29 pm
there is nothing wrong with that. Christianity is not the only “right” religion out there. it may not be the right one for you. keep looking, and good luck!

Curiousitiy!!! It kills us all if we don’t pursue it. Plus its good to be educated. Some religions stem from other religions… its quite the interesting chain… I fondly have researched Buddhism and Luciferianism. Let me know if you are interested in links for either of the two!

Been there, done that. It’s wicked! Stop! Start making yourself focus on the Bible. Pray and read your Bible. Only God can get that out of your heart (soul). If you don’t stop, you will find yourself getting more involved in that than you want to. Been there, done that!

It is because you are interested in discovering the “truth” when and if you find little bits of it starts stirring your imagination and that leads to philosopher’s stone! When you find it that is when a new journey begins… the truth is hidden in many places… blessed are the ones who realize it.

Its very important to be open minded, to achieve the truth and evade the dogmas that people may want to impose over you.

it’s what separates us from animals.we question our own existence. you seek the truth. some people are content with their own religious beliefs, others are afraid of the question, but most of us wonder why we are here. it’s the only question. sorry but i don’t have the answer.

Try to determine which religion “provides” you with the most… And by that, I mean physically, spiritually, emotional, and mentally provide you. Which do you find enlightening? Which guides you more?
It is also important to not pick a religion that allows for the comitting of sins and then saying that you will be forgiven because you believe in that religion. NO religion should ever do this… you should not be allowed to murder and say, “oh, I will be forgiven because I believe in my religion.” Faith cannot ultimately save a person if a person chose to commit sin intentionally and or purposely because their “religion” allows them to (I heard this on a sermon in church today and the priest was ranting on and on about it.)

Because you are an intelligent person who doesn’t just want to believe whatever someone tries to spoonfeed you. I’m Christian and am the same way. I take whatever makes sense and feels right and mix that in with my christianity, I don’t really fit into any particular catagory, but I go to a Catholic church. The fact is that no one has it exactly right, not even me. So keep on examining and changing your mind. I think it’s healthy and the best thing you can do in the eyes of God. Always seek the truth. Even if you never really find it.

Curiosity brings new knowledge. Keep asking!

Religions are a human institution, and humans are innately interesting. So it is quite natural.

I really dont have a shared religion, and i love to study religions. Maybe it has something to do with curiosity? i will never know…
Sam would rather be told what to do than find her inner being.

It seems to me that if penecostals didn’t know Jesus, they would be involved in other mystic and occult practices. Perhaps it’s because we have a interest in the supernatural that God put in us. Maybe we are the ones that welcome the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and use them because we don’t fear the supernatural. Just enjoy the fact that God has placed you in pentecostalism where others feel the same.Maybe God is calling you into a deliverence and warfare ministry.

Sounds to me like you’re falling prey to extra-Biblical theology. If you’re Christian, stay with what the Bible says.
As an example, U.S. Treasury agents don’t learn to identify counterfeit currency by studying counterfeits. They study the real thing. That way, when a counterfeit comes along they’re able to spot it right away.
By studying other religions, you’re diluting your knowledge of the real thing: introducing doubt. Doubt works against faith.
No religion can save you, only Jesus can. Religions are humanity reaching out to God. Christianity is God reaching out to humanity.

I’m curious why you felt like Yahoo! answers could provide you with a better solution than other believers in your church.
Yes, spiritual warfare has infatuated me in the past. My favorite books are This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti. They’re fiction. If you want to indulge your interest in a safe way, I highly recommend those books. Right now I’m reading The Visitation by the same author–so far it’s really good.
Like I said, I’ve been really interested in spiritual warfare in the past, highly interested in the things demons have done, but I think such interest can start heading in an unhealthy way. If we get more interested in the demonic side of spiritual warfare, rather than the amazing things God has done, than we’re getting out of balance, ya know?
Please, if you call yourself a Christian, seek God on this first before searching for answers on the web. He is the biggest supernatural being and He wants to reveal Himself to you in a big way.

It’s good that you are interested in learning about what others believe. It shows you are willing to accept that someone could believe something that you don’t. As far as the supernatural stuff, some people want to know because it is so unknown to us. It’s the idea of learning something that someone else doesn’t know.
I do believe in such things. When you grow up in a haunted house, you start to learn a lot about other plains of being. It got me interested in it too. Although, I don’t believe in exorcisms as some do. I do believe that the priesthood can get rid of things like that. If you really want to learn about it, read Mark 5:1-13. Tells the story of Christ casting out the evil spirits in a man into swine (pigs). Great story!! Anyways, I think he did that with the priesthood, that and he’s the Son of God. If he can’t do it, no one can!!

nothing wrong with reading. a little knowledge of other people’s views never hurt anybody. it’s what YOU put your faith in that matters.
