 A call has gone forth.

It is a call to the bride to worship!

7020_180018516928_136287766928_3679999_5745155_a1

God is raising up a worshipping bride. A bride who not only gives Him praise from her lips, but also gives Him praise from her heart. A bride who desires to be lost in the love of His presence.

Psalm103:1 says:

Praise the Lord, O my soul; and all my inmost being, praise his holy name.”

The Message translates that verse in this way:

O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I’ll bless his holy name!”

If our body has been marvellously made by our Creator Father let us not be afraid to use our body to give him worship and show him how much we love Him.

When in our worship we are lost in Him, absorbed in giving to Him our love we may well discover that we need our hands to express what we feel in our hearts. Then we will discover that we can also use our arms….and legs….and feet…and indeed, all our body to give Him praise and gratitude and love and worship.

This worship is bringing life back into the body of Christ. It is restoring joy to His people. It is restoring our love to the Father. It is bringing deliverance, and it is bringing liberty.

You may well discover you would like to add even more to your worship and so you can use a tambourine to manifest the joy of the Lord….or a banner or flag to manifest God’s greatness.

We cannot number the ways in which we can give praise and worship to our Lord, to give Him pleasure as His children.

Tabrets, flags, praise hoops, streamers, etc. are all physical adornments that symbolize the spiritual. Our whole purpose in using them is to minister to the Lord. They are used as instruments of praise, worship, warfare and intercession.

Many people consider these instruments of praise to be a new form of worship, when in fact they are only new to us. They are mentioned throughout the Old Testament, and really have just been re-discovered. God is restoring these to His bride.

Isaiah 61:10 talks about the bride adorning herself with jewels. These are adornments for the bride to use.

These instruments are only symbolic, but we can hold them in our hands and physically wave them to express our love and gratitude to Christ our Saviour. When Jesus entered Jerusalem the people waved palm branches as an expression of their love, victory, and freedom. Today, we are waving our flags and tabrets as an expression of our love, victory, and freedom. We are waving our symbolic “palm branches” to welcome our soon returning King.

This is visual worship. You don’t need words to understand this worship. They are symbols that transcend language and racial barriers. People of different languages and backgrounds understand that you are praising the Lord.

The Holy Spirit can use these visual expressions to reach out and penetrate a hard heart. Just as more traditional forms of praise and worship prepare the atmosphere and soften the heart to receive the Word of God, this too is anointed to do the same.

This visual worship is a form of communication. We use these instruments of praise to proclaim who God is to us.

They can represent a name, a character trait, or an attribute of God that we are lifting up. Be aware that it is not only communicated to God, but also to others who may be around us.

The call has gone forth. Now we need to ask ourselves – will we accept the call, or will we follow the path of least resistance? The path of least resistance is to do nothing. It is the easy path – the one most travelled.

Time after time, we pray for God to use us; but then we won’t obey Him when He desires to work through us. We gasp and say, “Oh Lord, I can’t do that”. God knows our strengths and He knows our weaknesses. He also knows what we are capable of doing with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Remember, He will not use us in big things if we never obey Him in the small stuff.

May 6th, 2010THE PRESENCE OF GOD

like_angels_by_kittie__chan-1-11

An appropriate place to begin a study on praise and worship would be with God’s presence. We need to understand that the purpose of praise and worship is two-fold.

First, to glorify God, and second, to enter His presence.

Is there anything more wonderful than entering into the presence of God? The definition of presence is “being within sight or call, being in company with, personal attendance”. It means to sit and worship at His feet, and be overcome with His love. After all, we were created to fellowship with the Father.

The Hebrew word K’vod is translated chabod or kabod, and means weight or weightiness. “Glory” is the definition we most often attribute to this word, but it also means “honour, power, dignity, authority, splendour, and magnificence”. The word K’vod comes from a root word meaning “to be heavy, to be glorious, to be honourable”.

When we pray and praise the Lord asking for His glory and His presence to dwell in our midst, we are asking that His presence, His magnificence, His splendour, His power would be displayed among us.

In Exodus 29:43-45 God says,

“And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.”

In this passage of scripture the Lord is saying that the tabernacle will be consecrated by His glory; that He himself will dwell in it and make it holy by His presence.

We have become the tabernacle; the temple of God.

We are His sons and daughters, and have assumed the priest’s office.

We are the Bride of Christ. He desires to dwell in us, in each of us; to make us holy, consecrated, and set apart by His presence.

Stop and think about it. Isn’t that awesome? God loves us, and nothing delights Him more than for us to spend time with Him. May we learn to spend time apart with Him, our loving Father, entering into His presence. Our lives will be forever changed by doing so.

March 4th, 2010PENNIES FROM HEAVEN

SPEAKING TO THE GLORY OF THE LORD

PENNIES FROM HEAVEN

It all started several days ago when a penny seemingly fell out of the sky and hit me on the shoulder while I was driving my car. Every day since, a penny has fallen around or on me. Yesterday I finally realized that the Lord was trying to show me something. As I looked at yesterday’s penny, I heard in my Spirit…Pennies from heaven. I looked up the meaning of the phrase and found this:

  From Oxford English Dictionary:

“e. pennies from heaven: money acquired without effort or risk; unexpected benefits, esp. financial ones. Also (in sing.): a windfall, a godsend (rare).

This is the message I received from the Lord:

You have thought that you were becoming completely penniless….that all your resources were being depleted. But I say unto you, fear not! I AM with you, and I will now open My treasuries of heaven to rain upon you My supernatural abundance. You will walk in My wealth to do My business. You shall not be without the resources needed to achieve My goals. You will complete that which I have burdened you with for I will provide ALL that is needed. The enemy is attempting to cut off your supply lines in the natural, but you operate from a higher place. I AM above all of the world and will provide in My ways. Even now I have My angels dispatched on your behalf to bring forth your abundant provision. Rejoice My children for you shall overcome and succeed in the face of your enemies. Prepare to receive My abundance designated specifically for you! Your table is prepared!

Psalm 23

5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
